This is an English fairy tale known under a great number of versions. The story is about Jack, a poor but clever and goodhearted boy who wants to help his mother.
One day he is sent to the market to sell their cow. There, Jack meets a stranger who offers to trade five "magic beans" for the cow. The beans turn into a gigantic beanstalk. Climbing it up, Jack arrives in a land that happens to be the home of a giant. Jack defeats the giant through courage and cleverness. In this way he revenges his father (lost in the giants country years ago) and lives decently with his family.
