THE THREE LITTLE PIGS

This is one of the stories children like best. Thats why the deeds of the three little pigs were transmitted orally. The story begins with the title characters being sent out into the world by their mother, to "seek their fortune".
This follows a theme, common to fairy tales, in which protagonists leave the family abode of their youth and its safety, venturing into an outside existence which turns out to be fraught with danger. The first little pig, tired, stops when he meets a man with a cartful of hay and decides to build a house of his own. The wolf blows it down. The second pig builds a house of sticks, but with the same ultimate result. The third pig builds a house of hard bricks. The wolf cannot huff and puff enough to blow the house down. Angry, the wolf tries to bring down the chimney, whereupon the pigs boil a pot of water into which the wolf plunges. Crying out with pain, the wolf escapes into the forest. The three brothers build a bigger house with stone walls, a table, a wooden wardrobe and beds with hay. The show at Tandarica is based on the classical story, but all the adventures of the little pigs are observed with irony. Its a performance with bridge, and marionettes with long strings, being a premiere and representing the return to traditional puppet theater.
